First Light Image Taken September 16, 2000 @ 21:06

This is the actual First light image taken, No dark frame or Flats were done.

Image Taken with my 8" SCT (G8) using the Skysensor 2000-PC for tracking.  Image is at f/10 and is a single 15 second exposure.

Camera Temp was at -8.6c with a ambient temp of 26.2c

M57 - 5 @ 15s, 2x2 binning

Same subject now though, this is a stack of 5 15 second exposures 2x2 binning and 5 Dark Frames averaged and subtracted.

Brightness and Contrast was adjusted and a Median Filter applied.

M57 5 @ 15s, 2x2 binning

Next I turned to M27 and tried it out.

As above this is a stack of 5 15 second exposures and Darks subtracted. No median filter used this time.

M27 5 @ 15s, 2x2 binning

And Finally for the Night I got M13.

This is a stack of 7 15second exposures at 2x2 binning and Dark Subtracted.

A Richardson-Lucy Filter was applied to enhance detail.

M13 7 @ 15s, 2x2 binning

I reprocessed M13  to and got this images.  Details are the same as above plus a unsharpened mask was applied.

M13 7 @ 15s, 2 x 2 binning

Notes for the Night:  I did not set up my scope properly for imaging.  No polar alignment was made at all other than pointing in the direction of Polaris.  The Skysensor was in unaligned Equatorial mode on a 2 star alignment.  Drift limited me to 15 seconds exposures. I Need to learn to Focus Genesis. I have gotten used to the real time focus in the 245plus software for the Cookbook camera.  I think longer exposures would have given better detain in M27 & M57 the shorter exposure helped bring out detail in M13.
